This year our theme is...
We want to focus on creating an environment in our chapter where everyone feels they are part of something bigger. By connecting everyone through competitive events, socials, and community service, every FCCLA member will gain the ability to lead, grow, and create change. We created the three units: Prepared to Lead, Equipped to Grow, and Inspired to make a Lasting Change. Information about each is available below.

Program Of Work
Prepared to Lead
Leadership means being able to step up when the chapter, or someone in the chapter, needs you. This is not a skill that can be gained overnight. With mentorship and guidance, everyone can become a leader.
To support FCCLA's purpose of developing leadership, our chapter offers many opportunities!

Chapter Activity Opportunities:

Chapter Officer - We encourage any student interested in gaining leadership skills to apply for a chapter officer position. By serving as officers, members plan and execute socials, community service projects, and fundraisers, gaining real-world experience in teamwork, organization, and leadership.

Senior Citizens Dinner - Each year, Goodland FCCLA hosts the Senior Citizens Dinner, which requires students to step into leadership roles such as valet, serving, escorting, and event coordination. To prepare younger students for future Chair positions, students begin in Co-Chair positions where they are mentored by experienced leaders and gain hands-on experiences.

Event Management Opportunities - As a chapter, we host several events that require event management skills. Students are encouraged to step into leadership positions where they are in charge of communication, organization, advocacy, and more. We believe the best way to gain leadership skills is to be an active participant in the process.
Equipped to Grow
Personal growth means developing your abilities in many ways. Whether through career-readiness skills or financial literacy, FCCLA and Family and Consumer Sciences offer many opportunities for students to grow.

Chapter Activity Opportunities:

Attend Conferences - Our chapter attends Fall Leadership Conference in October, Districts in January, State Leadership Conference in April, and National Leadership Conference in July. Every year, we strive to involve more students in these conferences to experience the impactful workshops, inspiring speakers, and valuable networking opportunities that help students grow in a multitude of ways.

Competitive Events - Within FCCLA, members can participate in a variety of competitive events that provide them opportunities to grow leadership skills, build community connections, or explore future careers. Students are encouraged to participate in STAR Events, LEO Boards, Skills Demonstration Events, and Challenge Tests to strengthen their FCCLA involvement and real-world readiness. ​
Inspired to Make Lasting Change
Inspiring students to make lasting changes in global cooperation is one of FCCLA's most important purposes. Through community service, members gain an understanding of what it means to be a part of something bigger than themselves.

Chapter Activity Opportunities:

​Community Service Activities - Community service is a core component of FCCLA, and as a chapter, we value it greatly. Members will have opportunities to participate in several service activities, such as the Senior Citizens Dinner, visiting the Senior Center, the elementary Kindness club, creating care packages, contributing supplies and efforts to local organizations, and putting on fundraisers for those in need. ​
