Why should you Join?
​FCS will help you expand your skill set so you can be successful in many different career pathways. All of which address the most important issues in our society. Students gain practical knowledge in managing finances, wellness, and child development. FCS also provides the foundational training for careers in hospitality, culinary arts, design, and child development. Not only does FCS provide education, but it also gives students the chance to learn hands-on. With projects such as cooking and sewing, student engagement increases.
FCS is not only about home economics; it also teaches every student the necessary life skills. Teaching is a part of every career. FCS classes teach the basics of employee training and provide educational presentations. Every student should participate in a class to learn the basics of career skills. Overall, students in FCS have an improved quality of life after high school.

What about FCCLA?
FCS has a club known as FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America). This extracurricular club opens many doors to your future by teaching you about college and career-readiness skills. No matter what you are interested in, FCCLA has something to offer you. Whether it is education or business, you will not only learn skills that will set you up for success in your career, but you will also be taught transferable life skills. By being in FCCLA, you will become a better public speaker, improve your interpersonal skills, including teamwork and conflict management, learn to communicate effectively, gain confidence through project management and goal setting, and, most importantly, develop leadership qualities.
FCCLA is a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO). CTSOs focus on raising student engagement to improve graduation rates by teaching leadership and professional skills through hands-on activities, such as leadership conferences, career competitions, and professional development training. Students gain self-confidence, explore career pathways, and gain a competitive edge in the professional world.
